Tank Girl (1995)

The advent of John Wick 3 got me thinking about Keanu Reeves--got me thinking about Point Break--got me thinking about heart-breaker Lori Petty-- got me thinking about the ultimate cartoon super-hero movie, when lo and behold what appears at my local theater but...

Tank Girl (1995)

Trigger warning: If you don't want scenes with chicks in them, you don't want to see Tank Girl.

Chief Executive Droog: played by Malcolm McDowell.

Mel Gibson: played by Lori Petty.

Cop Kangaroo: played by Iced Tea.

I like: Pain!

Animation: the Best!

Special effects: not so much.

Water & Power: The Pipe!

Now we've all got: Aussie accents.

Post Apocalyptic Strip Club: Now we're getting somewhere!

Post Apocalyptic Strip Club Musical Interlude: Cole Porter; Let'd Do It; 1928.

"I'll put a smile on your face": "You've got baseball cards?"

Kangaroo men steal the show: I'll see you cats in the Big Jam in the Sky!

I can see why this movie is universally reviled, but it's not a bad flick if you stick it out. It takes about an hour to realize that it *supposed* to be a cartoon.

It grows on you, check it out.
