Maborosi (Maboroshi)    幻の光

Maborosi

I watched this last night. I had never seen it before, but thought I had. I had it confused with the movie where the kids pass each other on the trains.

The cinematography was stunning. It was so beautiful that I didn't want the movie to end. He used a lot of stationary camera stuff that was sorta like Ozu, but not just on interior shots -- everywhere.

A great movie and unlike anything else I have seen from Kore-eda. Subdued, masterful storytelling. Perfect.
